— Establishing rituals of co-creation

Both service design and agile are processes that uncover insights and initiate conversations, whether internally or externally, in order to identify what is most valuable to the user and then proceed to design and deliver it.

CHETI NGO - Tanzania

  • From passion to project →Journey along the Tarangire river with CHETI NGO

After summiting Kilimanjaro in 2023, I was captivated by the Tanzanian people's great passion for learning and exchange, which led me to join forces with CHETI NGO (Children's Health & Education Team Inspiration). Together, we embarked on a co-created educational project aimed at fostering a love of science, music and learning among their students.

At the heart of our collaboration lies a series of 10 animal booklets, following the adventures of "Grazers" and "Chasers" along the iconic Tarangire River. These booklets are gateways to a world of knowledge, filled with engaging facts, songs, and interactive elements, co-written with teachers and tested with students.

  • Since 2024, we have been privileged to work closely with 600 CHETI students and 30 teachers across 7 schools in Arusha.

Through a combination of online encounters as well as school visits in Arusha, we have been able to design and deliver a holistic educational experience that engages the hearts and minds of the students.

  • Creative Integration: We have incorporated songs and stories written by the teachers, enhanced with QR codes for easy access to the audio recordings.

We also included cloth pouches, sewn in Tanzania for packaging the booklets, to incorporate sustainable practices and reflect local heritage.

At the same time, we used GenAI to create the illustrations and fact check the content.

This project is a wonderful example of how to combine tech extremes for the common good.

Interactive Learning: Our classes incorporate a variety of activities, including drawing, singing, and storytelling, to create a dynamic and immersive learning experience.

We have developed additional resources, such as teaching guides, craft guides, and puzzles, to support teachers and students in the learning journey.
